{"id":170,"date":"2012-07-31T18:08:53","date_gmt":"2012-07-31T23:08:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dorislu.com\/dorislu\/?page_id=170"},"modified":"2013-01-26T21:06:48","modified_gmt":"2013-01-27T02:06:48","slug":"fields-test","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/dorislu.com\/dorislu\/fields-test","title":{"rendered":"Visual Fields Test"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A visual field test is an eye test that can detect dysfunction in central and peripheral vision which may be caused by various medical conditions such as glaucoma, stroke, brain tumours or other neurological deficits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dorislu.com\/dorislu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/m700_top_122x162.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-171\" title=\"m700_top_122x162\" src=\"http:\/\/dorislu.com\/dorislu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/m700_top_122x162.jpg\" alt=\"Visual Fields\" width=\"122\" height=\"162\" \/><\/a>You are seated in front of a concave dome with your chin comfortably resting on a chin rest and focus on a target in the center. Each eye is tested separately. The eye that is not being tested is covered. When the test is started lights flash on inside the dome. You have a response system consisting of a mouse-like device with a single button at the top of it. You press the button when you see a light flash on in the dome. As different lights flash on at different levels of intensity in different areas of the dome and  you press the trigger, the computer maps and calculates your visual field based on your responses. If there is a particular area in the dome where you don&#8217;t detect the light by press the trigger, the computer maps that area as a blind spot area.
